Muvhango actor Senzo Radebe was “sandwiched between” two taxis in Joburg last week.
|||Senzokuhle ‘Senzo’ Radebe is reportedly recovering at a private clinic in Johannesburg after being involved in a car accident that nearly cost him his life.
Radebe plays Sthe Gumede, best friend to Vusi Mukwevho played by Raphael Griffiths, in the local soapie Muvhango.
According to SundayWorld the young actor was walking near the busy Noord Street taxi rank in the Joburg CBD when the accident occurred last week.
“Apparently, he was crossing the street when two taxis collided and he was sandwiched between them,” said Muvhango publicist Amanda Ngudle.
“Luckily, there was an eyewitness who knows Raphael's mother and immediately contacted Raphael's family and told them about Senzo's involvement in the car accident.So Raphael's mom broke the news to Senzo's family, that's how we also got to know that he was in hospital. It was a terrible accident, we've just been to see him and he (had just come out of) surgery.
“We were wondering why he had not reported for shooting of his scenes. Little did we know that he was fighting for his life in hospital,” she added.
Radebe suffered multiple fractures and internal injuries and has since undergone a number of surgeries, the last being on Thursday.
“He's been taken for operations to correct fractured bones in his arm before plaster (POP) can be put on him,” said Ngudle.
