Tumisho Masha to oppose wife’s protection order over alleged attacks which include him kicking her in the stomach.
|||Actor Tumisho Masha has been accused of physically attacking his wife for allegedly spreading lies about him.
Masha rubbished the claims, which include him kicking his wife in the stomach and calling her a b***h, at their home in Dainfern, Johannesburg.
Masha told SundayWorld: “Yes. I can confirm we have been having troubles in our marriage,” Masha said. “But did I slap her? No. Did I kick her in the stomach? No. I didn't do either of that. I'm not a woman or wife basher.”
Masha pointed an accusatory finger back at his wife, saying that she was the one who stirred trouble at a party the couple attended in April.
“While there, she told one of my close friends, who I have known for at least a decade, that I was a drug addict, a drunkard and an irresponsible father,” Masha told the publication.
“Yes. I drink during social gatherings and, like any man, I would smoke tobacco occasionally. But I'm neither a drug addict nor an irresponsible father. I was upset. Why would my wife say those things to other people? But I didn't confront her then,” he added.
Although he admits that he “smashed” his wife’s phone during a heated argument after he attended an event with a mutual friend, he claims Zozibini twisted the story, and proceeded to share his side.
“She was so aggressive, accusing me of things. I then went into one of the bedrooms, closed the door and stood behind it because it does not have a key to lock it. I wanted to address these issues. So, I closed the door and told the nanny to go away. She started screaming for help, saying I wanted to kill her. She tried to call police and I smashed her phone. But I apologised and promised to buy her a new one.”
Masha cites mother-in-law problems for contributing to their marital conflicts, saying: “She would visit us without me knowing and sleep in my bed in our bedroom when I left my house after an argument with my wife. Family interference is the main cause of the problems in my marriage,” he claims.
He went on to address another alleged incidence of physical abuse.
“On the day she alleges that I slapped her thrice across the face, I actually wanted to talk to her about her mother's stay in our house. I didn't assault her. My wife is light-skinned. How come she went to work that day and nobody noticed anything?”
But the accusations don’t end there.
Speaking to SundayWorld under condition of anonymity, a close friend of Zozibini’s claims Masha displayed a history of domestic abuse, saying: “She (Zozibini) told us that in June, he dragged her by her hair and called her a stupid b***h”.
Masha once threatened to kill his wife during a violent incident at the couple’s home, according to another friend, who said: “When she screamed, he pushed her onto the bed, held her face down and told her to stop screaming or else whoever would come to her aid would find her not breathing.”
Masha says he intends to fight an interim protection order obtained by his wife.
