Sunday Live host Tumelo Mothotoane is “humbled” by fans’ support after announcing that she is leaving South Africa.
|||Tumelo Mothotoane, current affairs host on Sunday Live, is leaving South Africa to join the news channel Russia Today TV as International news correspondent.
Mothotoane, who has also acted as news anchor on SABC News - Weekend and host of One Day Leader, took to social media to announce the exciting news.
She wrote:”In March 2014, Lupita Nyong'o won an Oscar Award and said in her speech that ‘No matter where you come from, your dreams are valid’. In March 2015 Trevor Noah proved to the South African child that ‘It is possible to achieve the unimaginable’ when he announced that he is the new and first African host of ‘The Daily Show’. It is with emotional feelings that I officially announce that I am leaving the SABC end of March 2016, but a grateful and humbled heart to announce that as from the 1st April 2016, this Pedi, Black, African woman, will be relocating to Europe to join Russia Today TV, on DSTV Channel 407, as their ALL NEW International News Anchor and Correspondent! From Russia, with Love. Tumelo Mothotoane
“I think of the natural challenges that lie ahead and come with this responsibility, a responsibility which I do not take for granted,” added Mothotoane, as she posted a message of thanks for fans’ support.
Thank you so much for the love, calls and messages of support (My phone even froze yesterday for hours!). I appreicate...
