Celebrate Women’s day with an all-female line up at the Kasi Food ‘n Drink Festival in Soweto.
|||The Kasi Food and Drink Festival is a South African Food, Drink, Culture and Heritage Festival, celebrating all things South African, for the Kasi and by the Kasi.
With an all-female line up which includes MsCosmo, DJ Zinhle, Lerato Kganyango, Rifilwe and Zama plus a performance by Bucie to celebrate Women’s month with a bang.
The perfect place for people to come together and enjoy the alchemy of culture and culinary delight, Kasi Food n Drink Festival will pack a punch for an avid foodie. The festival will see family and friends, young and old together to celebrate a culinary experience like no other.
The festival name Kasi; derived from the theurbandictionary describes KASI as “the name used for South African Townships”, or “South African Slang for ghetto” – but the KASI in Kasi Food and Drink is much more than that.
With the second year running the festival will see many stalls and entertainment that will burst with flavour and leave festival goers wanting more. Also it is there to uplift the community by providing a platform for township entrepreneurs to showcase their business and bring safe, quality entertainment to the township for many to enjoy. This brings about the spirit of UBUNTU that has kept Soweto running for all these years.
With the vision of creating a global integrated platform that showcases curated township experiences for and by the people of every Kasi. The festival will see businesses around the township benefiting from patrons in and around Soweto.
The second edition of the festival will see an even bigger selection of vendors, drink spots and the lifestyle area which will house specialist bars, VIP lounges and the beer garden. The day calls for some family fun with a dedicated children’s entertainment area.
