Actress Keshia Knight Pulliam has spoken out - and broken down - about reports that her husband has filed for divorce and is seeking a paternity test just one week after the actress announced that she was pregnant.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight gave a shocking response to the question of whether she cheated on her husband Edgerton Hartwell II.

On the day of her interview with the publication, they confirmed that Pulliam had filed her own papers in response to her husband’s.

During the interview, she also responded to rumours that she and Hartwell had troubles from the very beginning of their marriage, and that they had not celebrated his birthday together this year.

The Cosby Show star’s husband sought a divorce after just six months of marriage.

The former NFL player filed a divorce complaint on Monday in Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta.

PEOPLE.com had reported that Hart requested the paternity test because he is concerned about the timing of the pregnancy, which a source says occurred during “a dark spot in their relationship”.

“It's just that he had told her he wanted to wait before having a baby and things got really bad between them and then she pops up pregnant. He even told her he didn't want to release the bump picture so soon, but she did it anyway,” an insider reportedly said.

Hartwell’s complaint says the two married on January 2 and recently separated. The three-page document offers no details or reason for the split, saying only that “the marriage is irretrievably broken and there is no possibility of reconciling.”

The 37-year-old Pulliam played daughter Rudy Huxtable on ‘The Cosby Show’ and also played Miranda Payne on ‘Tyler Perry’s House of Payne’.

According to the NFL’s website, 38-year-old Hartwell was a linebacker in the NFL, including four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and two with the Atlanta Falcons.
