TV presenter tells actress Penelope Cruz she has ugly feet in awkward live TV moment
|||Penelope Cruz’s little piggies got slaughtered on live TV yesterday.
The sexy Spanish actress was horrified when a presenter on the NBC show, Today, asked her about her “ugly feet”.
“I don't even know how I feel about this, I think you said it, that you, despite what you look like... you've said you have ugly feet,” said show host Savannah Guthrie.
With 5-million viewers as her witness, Penelope denied ever having said such a thing. “No, no, no,” she protested, fixing an angry, quizzical look at the host.
“I haven't said that. I'm OK, I'm OK with my feet. I haven't said that.'“
It was an awkward moment, one Stern tried to extricate herself from by claiming she thought Cruz had despaired over the state of her feet in the past because she used to be a dancer.
Cruz, who studied classical ballet for nine years, explained: “When you're a ballet dancer, you lose your toenails. You get used to throwing them away. You don't even feel it anymore.”
But she still wasn’’t prepared to let Stern get away so easily, adding that she thought her feet were “normal”.
Stern, obviously squirming under the heat, closed the subject with a curt: “We'll leave it at that.”
Cruz was on the show to promote her new film, Zoolander 2.
