Former Isidingo star Brandon Auret lets loose in vicious post over SABC censorship directive and comments on Jimi Matthews's resignation.

Actor Brandon Auret has labelled SABC boss Hlaudi Motsoeneng a “clown”.

Auret, who played the popular character Doep on Isidingo, didn’t mince his words after coming across a story in which Motsoeneng declared that the SABC would no longer broadcast any negative coverage about president Jacob Zuma.

“F*** you clown,” raged Auret, in a Facebook post he wrote on Monday morning.

He added: "Let's start talking s**t about you rather incompetent branch manager."

His criticism was not limited to Motsoeneng, as he proceeded to respond to his own post, taking aim at President Jacob Zuma. He wrote: “There is never any good news about JZ. Not even a good spin doctor could clear his name.”

Auret has starred in a number of high profile films in his career thus far, including Hansie: A True Story, District 9, Chappie, Durban Poison and Elysium. He also recently played a role in Mpumelelo Paul Grootboom’s topical stage drama The President’s Man.

Judging by his timeline, his interests seem to include guns, cage fighting, marijuana and the SABC – particularly the national broadcaster’s stance on content and the reporting of social unrest.

“Assssssssholeamia,” he chimed in, after Motsoeneng declared that the SABC’s rivals e.tv and DStv “don’t exist”.

On Monday morning, Auret also commented on the resignation of SABC acting group CEO Jimi Matthews.
