Lisa Good has left New Yorkers stunned by her voice and talent at the Coast2Coast Live showcase, where she proudly hoisted the South African flag high.

The talented 25-year-old newcomer came third at the New York event last week.

Good’s record label, Xhentsa Entertainment, decided to test the international waters after seeing the positive response whenever the song was played.

“We were surprised when the results(were) positive and she had been selected in the Artist and Video Showcase for this year in New York.” She impressed the American adjudicators with her exciting song and accompanying music video.

PA-turned-singer, real name Sandisiwe Lisa Sontonga, entered the online competition with little hope that she would be nominated, let alone reach the finals.

“I just took the chance of entering my song for Coast2Coast because I know how big they are in the USA and they help boost artist’s careers to a higher level in the music industry,” said the excited star.

The pop singer, who hails from Lamontville in KwaZulu-Natal, studied music technology and sound engineering at Creative Arts College. Her talent was first noticed by her church members when she served as a lead singer in the choir at the age of eight.

Lisa received her big break when signed by Xhentsa Entertainment and realised her first single Happy World (Hayibo).

This track is currently playlisted in the United Kingdom, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, and Namibia.

The singer has also welcomed the SABC 90 percent local music quota as the way to empower musicians.

When asked about any collaborations she would like to do she did not hesitate to mention Emtee and Lira.
