Our Perfect Wedding couple pushes past bride’s weight issues, jealousy and a tardy bridal party on the way to the altar.
|||Kedibone met her sweetheart Elias on social media. She admits she could not resist his charms - to which Elias responds by blusing - and ended agreed to meet him at a mall.
She admits that at first, she hid from him when she spotted him at their rendezvous point, as she was embarrassed about being overweight.
Elias, 36, says Kedi, 42, is exaggerating about her size, as he did not think she was too big.
The two began dating and Elias did not like the way Kedi put herself down due to her weight. He also says he was concerned for her health as he would lie awake at night listening to her struggling to breath. He then decided to introduce her to gym to help her develop a healthy lifestyle.
Kedi's low self esteem began to improve as she lost the weight and became a happier person. However, her jealous streak remained- and was revealed when on one occasion she took leave to travel to work with Elias who, is a taxi driver. “She wanted to make sure that I don't pick up women while working,” laughs Elias.
Not to be discouraged by Kedi's insecurities, Elias keeps assuring her that he will never leave her, and would be with her “till death do us part”.
“If only more men could learn from Elias and try to understand what a woman goes through,” Thembisa remarked.
The couple went for their fittings, and boy did it get emotional when Kedi walked out in her white gown. Everyone was brought to tears - including the designer. When asked by presenter Thembisa, what brought on the tears, Kedi said she never thought this moment would come.
This week's theme colour was mint, silver and glass. I must say I was impressed by Ousi Dolly's decor. The colour coordination worked well, and I could not fault it. The double-folded mint napkins gave a beautiful contrast against the glass underplate.
Their cake looked a bit like a kid's birthday cake, though. But the decor made up for it, so it did not matter.
This week's bridal party behaved in a peculiar manner, and kept disappearing. The bride could not get hold of them when she tried to find out why they did not sleep at the venue she had booked for them.
They were also not available when the bride was ready to walk down the aisle. To add to that, the beautiful garden reception was half empty, as guests, including family members, were running late. Kedi's sister asked that the wedding ceremony be delayed until everyone arrived.
This gave Kedi a chance to address her bridal party. When asked why they did not sleep at the booked lodge, they said there was a communication breakdown, as they were not aware of Kedi's accomodation arrangements. Thembisa then asked them why they were not with Kedi when she was preparing on the morning of the wedding, to which they said that they were waiting for someone to call them to the bride’s room.
Kedi decided not to let this ruin her day and ended their short meeting with a prayer. By the time they were done, a reception filled with family and friends were waiting - and she finally made her grand entrance.
Elias could not stop smilling when he saw his beautiful bride walking down the aisle.
The reception ewent smoothly , and gave the couple a beautiful start to the rest of their life together.
