The Dance Star Organization recently confirmed that Paul Modjadji is one of judges for the 2016 dance star world championships.
|||It’s dubbed the biggest dance competition in the world, with over 55 countries represented. A total of 5 000 dancers will be competing for the covet title of the world’s ultimate dance STAR. It is the only worldwide dance competition in the globe.
Paul Modjadji made history in 2011 by being the first dancer from the African continent to be crowned world solo jazz champion at the same championships he is set to judge.
The Dance Star Organization recently confirmed their list of judges for the 2016 dance star world championships. Alongside Modjadji will be the So you think you can dance South African head judge, David Matamela Modjadji is not a new comer to the international dance scene.
He was crowned top dancer in the globe at the Talent America Showcase in 2013, most recently acclaimed for choreographing Africa's first dance film, Hear Me Move.
He's work with advancing dance in disadvantaged communities has also won him multiple awards, including the coveted Inyathelo Philanthropy award and a Mandela Washington Fellowship Young African Leaders Award.
’’Returning to the biggest dance platform as a part of a panel of esteemed international judges is a great leap and feat for a young dancer who grew up in the dusty streets of a little unknown village in the north of South Africa.” said Modjadji.
“I am honoured and hope to continue to be part of a new generation of young Africans who are changing the narrative of our continent from disfranchised to Global African excellence. This is more than just about me its about representing the best of our rich continent’’, he added.
The competition is closely supervised by the International Dance Association ESDU (European Dance Union) one of the largest dance organizations in the world. Laguna Porec is a major partner in the project.
