This week’s OPW episode’s only confusing bit was the bride’s age but all else was regal and beautiful.
|||Before Annah and David first got together, she kept rejecting him. The first time they met she was herding her father’s cows and had no time for him. She just wasn’t interested in the man and the stories she had heard about him also put her off. She didn’t think he was the staying type.
After they eventually got together, David went astray for a short while. She forgave him; they had three children together and on last night’s episode of Our Perfect Wedding, they finally got the wedding of their dreams.
David, 41 and Annah- a questionable 31-year-old lady (she did not look 31 at all but a former schoolmate confirmed that she was on Twitter after the question was asked) thought back to when he first asked her to marry him. They went out to the mall on her birthday and walked into a jewellery store. David bought a ring and asked if she liked it. She said yes, and the rest is history. It wasn’t a normal kneeling proposal because as David put it “Ndebele men should not kneel at all”.
On their wish list was the décor, cake and food.
The setup for the wedding was at a stadium because the couple wanted to have ample space for their guests.
The tent had a table setting for 350 people, cocktail lounge for 150 people, and an open area for extra people.
They used ghost chairs and tables and themed it navy and gold. It was a dream.
The cake was dramatic and detailed and fabulous with diamantes and intricate patterns.
The couple had two official ceremonies. The first was held at the groom’s home to welcome the bride. The Umhlabiso took the whole day.
Annah wore an American import for her wedding dress. It had a beautiful flower detail and she paired it with navy and gold shoes and a yellow rose bouquet.
Her bridesmaids wore navy dresses with gold belt detail.
The groom was not to be outshone with his own imported cream and black suit from Italy.
Once the wedding party returned from taking pictures at a different venue, they found that there was an overflow of people. On their guest list were about 600 people and over 1000 people showed up. What looked like something that would become a stampede ended up working out well since they had a stadium for the guests to fill. The event was organised well with jumping castles for children and all the different set ups for the adults.
The main table for the bride and groom was regal. White and gold throne seats decked with gold décor and white flowers.
But the surprise of all surprises was when David ‘blessed’ his bride with a car, Golf GTI, as a wedding gift.
The couple change into their Ndebele attire later in the night and celebrated their love.
